Also, all Christmas stuff is 75% off right now at Walgreens. I bought 2000+ lights tonight from $1 to $2.49 a strand. Some of them were those LED kind too -- not bad. I needed all that stuff anyway, so I might as well get it all now instead of 10 months from now for full price. There was a TON of good stuff there for next to nothing. So I loaded up and spent $97.05, BUT I saved $276 AND it was on things I was going to have to buy next October anyway, so why not now for much less?

If you go to the Reidsville Walgreens, good luck. There was a hoard of people there clawing over the remains when I left with my 2 cart loads.!

What Is Up at Walgreens?

Never before have I seen so many people caring about getting a good deal! Every time I go in that store everyone is carrying around a sales paper and searching for every item that is on sale. And don't tell me that it's because of this blog---I'm not that good or that popular. It's funny how 99.99% of the population laughs at those using coupons, when in fact we are laughing back at them for not using them and paying $30 for something we got paid $4 to take off the store's hands. But lately, it's like everyone and their mama is coming in there to get stuff! No one laughs at me anymore; instead they are asking me for advice and where to find the good stuff. These are perfect strangers, wandering the aisles! Oh well, it's cool. I don't care. Maybe they can find them a deal too. At least they don't know about RRs, Easy Saver Rebates, ECBs, MIRs, FARs, GCs + 10%, Rite Aid, or rain checks yet, so there should still be some good deals for the rest of us. (And if you know what at least half of what I just mentioned stands for or what they are, then you are just as bad as me and need help too!)

CVS Deals

If you missed the CVS deals that started Sunday and end today (Monday), then don't bother with it now. Most stores are wiped out. I have no pics of the loot, but I got $345 for only $7 oop (out of pocket). $7!!!!!!!!

I also grew my ECBs by a few bucks, so really it was more like $2 for my final costs. And of course it was all stuff I use already or will use because it was cheap/free/profit.

What did you do? How much did you save? Let me know. I have one report of a local couple buying $603 of stuff and made about $20 profit on it all. Yeah....$20 PROFIT.

If you are planning on going to Reidsville to do it, keep driving. Some lady came in this morning and bought 3 of them. They have nothing but empty shelf space now. This deal ends TODAY (Monday).

Walgreens: Reports From The Field

I headed out to Walgreens today at lunch and got a GREAT deal on Arm & Hammer detergent. After it was all said and done (and if I've done my math right) I bought 24 jugs of this stuff for
-$0.86!! That's after Register Rewards (RRs) have been figured in. That's a NEGATIVE $0.86 i.e., I made a profit of $0.86!

Here's how I did it:

Buy 4 Arm and Hammer Detergents at $6.99 each = $27.96
Use in-ad coupon (found in store) that saves $5 on each jug = $20.00
Use 2 printable coupons found HERE = $2
Total before tax = $5.96

Get $5 in Register Rewards

Do this transaction again without using printable coupons (max you can print is 2)
4 jugs = $27.96
less $20 from in-ad coupon
less $5 Register Rewards from Transaction 1
Total = $3.16 (after tax)

Buy 24 of these to turn a profit of $0.86!!

I never used Arm & Hammer before, but I just switched. If you try it, leave a comment and let me know how you did. If you go in and they are out, they have plenty more in the back -- just ask.

The Best Little Shopper

No, I didn't get a good deal on a baby. However, this little girl knows how to shop. She told me her secret is to beat the crowds to the store and then to beat them if they got in her way (she's pretty tough; I wouldn't front her in line). She doesn't take no for an answer and always gets her deals. Good job Sidney Kate!

Thanksgiving Day CVS Trip -- A Little Late

Here's what I scored at CVS on Thanksgiving Day. I got there and there was a young woman, flyer in hand, waiting at the doors. I thought she was going to be competition, but we actually ended up shopping together for a little bit. She had been stockpiling and couponing for a couple of months and I was surprised that she knew all that she did about it.

I didn't do as well as I thought I would with all this stuff. I ended up paying $25 oop, but got back $30 ECBs, for a net profit of $5. That's ok, but I wanted to pay about $2 oop and get back $30 ECBs, but I miscalculated on the first transaction and that really threw me off. But I can't complain; I still did not go in the red. Dave Ramsey would be proud.

Black Friday Hype and My Trip to Best Buy

One thing I can say about Black Friday is this: IT'S ALL OVER-HYPED. I went to Best Buy at 10:30PM on Thanksgiving Day night and stood, yeah stood, in line til the doors opened at 5am. The only thing I wanted was the $280 laptop with a free printer...that's it. Did I get that, you wonder? Oh no....not a chance. Not hardly. I realized that all this Black Friday hype was just that....HYPE. There were no real deals at Best Buy, but don't tell that to the throngs of women scrambling to get the Sex and the City Season 2 DVD for $19.99 or the guys grabbing the $1000 tv that was $1100 the day before. That's not a deal. But the store got people hyped up and unfortunately I bought into it. I don't even know the last time I stayed up all night long, but one thing I do know is that I will never do it again for a so called deal. It was good to see people spending their hard-earned money, but not their future paychecks, i.e. credit cards, to get our economy back up and running full steam again. Thanks guys!
